Our fabulous Volunteer Coach, Stuart Gregg, recently won the Swim England West Midlands Volunteer of the Year Award and was invited to attend the National Finals where Stuart achieved a SILVER! We are all so proud of him and so grateful for all the hard work and endless enthusiasm Stu brings to the club.
Stu has kindly provided these photo's from the event and these are his words on the experience: "I wanted to say a big "thank-you" to everybody - for all the support, love and kind words recently. Even though I don't like too much fuss, I really enjoyed my day out at the SE Awards day - and was lucky enough to get a medal as well. I certainly made a point of telling my daughter that I placed better at English Nationals than she did!!
But, much more special than any award has been the words and messages I have received. It's all been very unexpected. I'll treasure my "book of thoughts" for all my days.
Seeing the development and progress of the Club over the last ten years has been amazing. I've been fortunate to be involved in that along with some fab people.
Recently at the Arena League final was another special moment where I felt so proud of all the swimmers - and of the whole Club.
ESC has a culture, ethos and community we should all cherish - where we work hard, but always try and do it with a smile. Where our young people are the force behind everything that is positive about our Club - and who constantly strive to bring out the best in themselves! Long may that continue!
Thank you again Stu for everything you do and we are so pleased you were recognised on a National scale for this! So well deserved.
