Competition and Fixtures
Evesham Swimming Club is an inclusive club, with competition playing a big part of our activities.

Competitions can be split into the following categories:

-
Team Galas - swimmers are selected to swim for ESC and earn points for the team. As a club we also do internal House Galas.

-
Open Meets & Events - swimmers compete as an individual and select the races they wish to swim. We go as a team or swimmers can go to these events on their own. As a club we support a number of these through the year. We also host our own Invitational Open Meet annually and our own L4 Club Championships (Summer & Winter). We also host the Evesham Modern Biathlon annually, although this is not a licensed swimming event.

-
County, Regional & National Championships - swimmers can qualify for these events by achieving times set by the County or Region. For National qualification swimmers must be selected through Swim England Rankings.

We are achieving increased success in getting our swimmers to Worcestershire County Championships, as well as competing as a Club team against other clubs in the region.
We target a number of galas each year that our coaches feel will match the abilities of our swimmers. As a club, we run an internal Summer & Winter Championships which give our swimmers experience of competition.

We aim to introduce swimmers to competing in races as soon as possible after they join the club. This can be achieved internally to raise swimmer confidence, and develop the understanding of the skills required. Once they reach 9 years (the ASA age for competing outside of the club environment) they should be competent to compete for ESC.
